With the need to move the existing BIM 360 site away from HubSpot, Torpedo were tasked with building the site in WordPress. As part of this transition, we also agreed to redesign the site to align the overall visual appearance with the BIM 360 product pages living on the core BIM 360 site. We would also need to design a new blog and migrate all existing content.

Following the briefing calls with the BIM 360 Ops team and after gaining a complete understanding of what was required, we kicked off the process of building and redesigning the BIM 360 Ops site.

We started by reviewing the layout for the current BIM 360 product pages to better understand how we can develop the format for the needs of BIM 360 Ops. Leveraging the available templates, we created a visual comp.

The next step was to run through the process of content strategy. This involved reviewing the existing content, deciding which content added value and should be kept and which content was redundant and could be omitted, and mapping that content to the new page design. We also updated the existing copy and developed new content that added value and contributed towards the page goals.

Alongside the creation of the copy, we worked with the BIM 360 Ops team to develop new imagery and apply new icons to support the copy.

We also designed a new BIM 360 Ops blog, which was inspired by the design of the BIM 360 website as well as the existing Convergence blog. The BIM 360 Ops blog showcases the most popular blogs, has a dedicated space for featured posts, and allows users to filter based on their specific requirements.

The outcome of the project was a refreshed BIM 360 Ops site that, although operates as a standalone micro-site, it now visually aligns with the BIM 360 website and product collection. The updated content is focused more on the value to the user and toward driving action to achieve the page goals.
