British supercar manufacturer Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) collaborated with Autodesk to help improve their design and manufacturing processes for the launch of their latest Mono. Together, BAC and the Autodesk team focused on how generative design could be applied to the wheel, concentrating on the benefits of faster time-to-design, light-weighting, and performance, with different manufacturing methods and materials tested.

Foster + Partners developed the large-scale Additive Subtractive Integrated Modular Machine (LASIMM), a massive hybrid manufacturing machine with metal additive and subtractive capabilities. The machine features capabilities for additive manufacture, machining, cold-work, metrology and inspection that will provide the optimum solution for the hybrid manufacturing of large engineering parts of high integrity, with cost benefits of more than 50% compared to conventional machining processes.
