Autodesk Brand Hub Design and Build
The aim of the brand hub was to create a compelling homepage that succinctly tells the new brand story and visually aligns with the new brand. The site had to be user friendly with easy navigation and clear content for easy understanding of the guidelines. To protect certain content, the site required the ability to gate content from particular users. To achieve this we implemented a sign-in process.
Project: Autodesk Brand Hub Design and Build
Deliverables: Website;
Background

In support of the company’s rebrand in 2021, we worked with Autodesk to design and build a new online hub that would tell the brand story and house the guidelines of how the brand should be used – including brand voice, brand system, and its applications.

Our UX team were involved heavily from the development of initial wireframes and concepts, through to the final build. A key requirement was to leverage the brands visual identity, along with their design system for digital platforms. The outcome was a series of web components that could be used in a multitude of combinations to create the pages that would become the brand hub.

Our involvement

Upon approval of the components, it was time for the web development team to take control. Taking the designs from the UX team, the web developers built the site and populated it with content ready for the rebrand launch in September of 2021. In addition to building the site using the UX/UI designs, the web team incorporated Autodesk’s single sign-on platform which allowed for gated content accessible to users with certain permissions.

The components were built in WordPress as individual blocks, enabling an easy to use CMS platform that would empower Autodesk to update content as and when they needed without the need of specialist web developer skills.

The Autodesk Story

One of the key requirements was the homepage. The goal for the page was to succinctly tell the new brand story as well as reveal the symbol of the new visual identify – the 3D Autodesk logo. To achieve this, the story was told in a few sentences and we used the 3D Autodesk symbol as the background to the page. Both the story and logo animate as the user scrolls the page to create seamless timing between the ending of the story and final reveal of the new logo.
