AutoCAD Garden Workshop
This striking hero visual inspires current or prospective AutoCAD users by demonstrating what is possible within the software’s 3D design capabilities. Torpedo worked to create a compelling building design from scratch, that would be inspiring, whilst also maintaining technically integrity - all created and rendered in AutoCAD.

Designing the workshop

The hero image needed to be something that could be a commercial project, whilst avoiding excluding smaller business in it’s ambition. We also needed something that was fairly universally applicable – we wanted it to be something new, that would illicit a response of “ooo, I want one!”

Many mood boards later… we settled on a Garden Workshop

Our team then set about designing a functional, yet desirable space, that we could hopefully all imagine at the end of our gardens.

Creating the final image

From the AutoCAD model, we were able to render various light passes and line-work renders, before composting the various layers and finishing the image in Photoshop.

How was the image used?

The final image is a flexible 8k graphic that can be used across print and web assets and various crops and aspect ratios. It’s primary use was to be the new header image for AutoCAD.com, setting the tone and inspiring the hundreds of thousands of monthly visitors to the site.
