Fusion Brand Book
Autodesk’s integrated CAD, CAM & CAE software, Fusion 360, was in need of a fresh approach to their brand guidelines. Torpedo was tasked with developing a brand book that was not only current, cohesive and containing all of the required brand elements, but one that highlighted the creative potential of the brand.

The first important step was to curate the content that needed to be included within this document. We reviewed various brand elements and guidance from a range of sources, pulling together a content strategy and ensuring all relevant content was brought into one place. To better visualise how this content would be organised, we created a wireframe for the document and placed the content in what we believed to be the most logical order.

Having agreed an overarching visual style based on the mood boards, we concepted page designs for the various phases of the brand book to nail down the finer details and develop brand new elements, such as icons and patterns, to support the brand visuals.

Once the content and structure had been approved, we got started with the visual aspects. We began by creating mood boards to express various design routes. The boards were developed after having reviewed existing assets such as websites, advertisements and eBooks to gather a strong understanding of the current creative of the brand and how we could incorporate that and even push it further.

A key inclusion in the brand book was the engaging imagery that was not only relevant to the users but also related closely to the information being portrayed. To drive home the creative potential of the brand, we incorporated and developed images that were true to Fusion 360 by either being of people working with the software or of rendered images created from within the software itself.

The end result was a cohesive brand document and a singular location for internal employees and vendors to find support when working with the brand and creating brand assets.
