Virtual Exhibits for AEC Using Ceros
Torpedo has worked with Autodesk on many occasions to create guidelines and pop-up banners for events to showcase customer stories. The intention is that these “kits” can be used to display exciting case studies where clients have leveraged pioneering processes, powered by Autodesk software, to enhance their business offering, enter new markets or grow with new technologies. At the start of the pandemic, Autodesk recognised that conferences and events were going to be a thing of the past for the foreseeable future, so decided to alter their course and move to creating virtual exhibits.
Project: Virtual Exhibits for AEC Using Ceros
Deliverables: Website; Landing Page; UX;

Autodesk conducted research and decided to implement these virtual exhibits using a platform called Ceros: a cloud-based design platform that allows marketers and designers to create immersive content without writing a single line of code. Torpedo has implemented several Ceros virtual experiences across the various Autodesk sectors to date, but in particular these three sites were created for the Autodesk Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) team.

Stamhuis

Stamhuis is a leading organisation in retail unit renovations and improvements and are an Autodesk customer and partner. The Stamhuis team are one of few companies who are implementing Generative Design in the space planning sector. For Stamhuis, utilising Generative Design allowed them to put their designers’ time to better use and they were able to generate 40 relevant designs in just 15 minutes whilst also enhancing their collaboration with end user clients.

Torpedo and Autodesk pin-pointed areas where interactivity could be used to showcase the impressive stats associated with this project and engage the user.

Bryden Wood

Bryden Wood is a design company at the forefront of the construction industry who’s recent work on two key projects using Autodesk software was captured in this virtual exhibit.

The first project was a modular solution that provided a kit of parts used to reduce the time needed to design public buildings. The second was the London Crossrail project, where Bryden Wood  enhanced their DfMA process to achieve huge efficiency increases.

Using a series of components to create tabs, Torpedo designed an experience that told the stories in a digestible and eye-catching format, leaving plenty of room for the impressive project imagery.

GHD

GHD is a global professional services company with a mission to address the world’s most pressing challenges in water, energy, and urbanisation. Their virtual exhibition explored updates and improvements to the Master Planning process of a large-scale infrastructure and housing development projects, specifically focussing on The Plantations in the United Arab Emirates.

Torpedo worked with Autodesk to integrate a huge amount of eye-catching imagery and video content, as well as dynamic features, to help convey the story.

Torpedo worked closely with Autodesk to establish an effective process for the creation of the sites: initially Autodesk would provide Torpedo with a suite of materials from various customer stories and profiles, as well as imagery and video content relating to the story. Torpedo’s Strategy team then formatted this to suit web-page viewing. Then it was handed over to the UX and UI team to formulate a suitable wireframe for the content and ultimately build the UI in Ceros thereafter. Torpedo also supported Autodesk in setting up vanity URLs to redirect users.

The webpages have proved extremely popular and have the benefit of being widely accessible and not limited to just a few uses or to in-person viewing only. Through embracing digital tools, Autodesk has been able to effectively navigate through global challenges, allowing Autodesk to deliver impactful experiences to their customers and prospects whilst face-to-face meetings and in-person contact isn’t possible.
